There's a lot that's misunderstood about the world of pageantry. It's a common misconception that pageant girls are uneducated and uninformed. For anyone not in the pageant world, let me just tell you it's NOT true.
Have you ever watched a pageant and listened to the introductions of the contestants? You'll hear how incredibly accomplished they are. I'm talking college degrees, advanced careers, and business owners. You'll also hear about their platform; what each contestant is advocating for. These women are impacting their communities and leading by example.
I decided to start a "Pageant Girl Interview" series. As a competitor myself, I've met many amazing women. I wanted to showcase their experience with the hope of showing the world how beautiful pageantry really is.
I took to Facebook with the Society of Pageant Women asking for volunteers to be interviewed, and received an overwhelming positive response.
My first interview was with Sandahl Taylor, Mrs. Pennsylvania America 2018. I met Sindel at the 2018 Mrs. Pennsylvania America pageant where I competed as Mrs. Philadelphia. I had the honor of being on stage when she was crowned as our new Queen, and I've remained in contact with her. Sindel is a strong advocate for her platform of Heart Health Awareness, with an emphasis on CPR and Heart Health Education.
