My ULTIMATE Routine for Skin In Need of Some TLC
Aside from my daily skin care routine, I have one for when my skin DESPERATELY needs some TLC. I follow this routine after a weekend at the hospital. I’m a NICU nurse and I work one weekend a month at the hospital on night shift. Not only does the sleep disruption with night shift take a toll on my body, but the elements of the NICU do as well. It’s WARM in there. It's Sahara Desert hot.
After my weekend I usually feel like crap. That’s the honest truth. I used to work night shift full time, but since I reduced my hours I just don’t recover from night shift like I used to. My whole body takes a beating, and my skin looks dull and tired.
Here is my ULTIMATE routine for skin that needs some TLC!
STEP 1: WASH! My absolute FAVORITE face wash is Philosophy Purity. My skin actually feels clean after and it’s not harsh on my sensitive skin.
STEP 3: PEEL-OFF MASK! I’ve been nervous about peel-off masks since my skin fell victim to the popular charcoal mask you see all over Instagram. I found this Disco Kitten Illuminating Peel-Off Mask with the other impulse items at the Ulta checkout and decided to give it a try. It actually did not rip my face off, but left it feeling beyond glamorous! No pain involved (unless my face has gone numb from the peel-off mask of death).
STEP 4: HYDRATING MASK! Yep, another mask. I am ALWAYS dehydrated, and it’s even worse after night shift. I usually don’t like sheet masks, but this Soap & Glory Bright & Beautiful mask was awesome. For 20 minutes I walked around doing my best “Hello, Clarice” impressions.
STEP 5: HYDROGEL EYE MASK! I have bags for DAYS after night shift. These little gems really help with tired and puffy eyes. Another Soap & Glory winner!
So there you have it! My skin care routine for skin that needs some HELP!
